Getting Started
Gamilingo is a web-based gamified lesson platform designed for online language teachers. It lets you run interactive, gamified lessons with young learners — including vocabulary, spelling, grammar, reading, pronunciation, and conversation activities — all with a built-in star and treasure chest reward system that keeps kids engaged.
Gamilingo is built for language teachers who teach children (approximately ages 5–12). It works for 1:1 lessons and can also be used with small groups. While our ready-made lesson packs are in English, the lesson builder works for any language.
There are two ways to try Gamilingo. First, try the demo — no signup needed, just click and see a sample lesson in action. Second, create a free account to access the lesson builder and create your own lessons for 7 days. After 7 days you can continue using your account with a subscription (monthly/yearly).
No. Students don't need accounts, login details, or any setup. You share your screen during the lesson and the student interacts through your screen share. Teacher clicks/types, student gives the direction (what to click, what to type)
No. Gamilingo is entirely browser-based. It works on any computer or tablet. No downloads, no installations, no app store required.
Lessons & Content
Each lesson pack can include: vocabulary (image-based word matching), spelling (student spells, teacher types as they spell), grammar (fill-in-the-gap, word order, choose the correct word), reading (guided stories with comprehension), flashcards, pronunciation activities, conversation prompts. You can mix and match activities based on your lesson needs. If you have an idea for an activity that should be included, let us know and we're happy to consider it for a future update.
Absolutely. The built-in lesson editor lets you create custom themed packs on any topic. Choose a theme, add your vocabulary, spelling words, grammar exercises, reading passages, and conversation prompts. You can choose whether you want to use all activities for a lesson, or just some of them (it's not mandatory to use every activity for every lesson). Lessons that are saved can also be edited (as well as the lessons provided by us can be edited). Once you create and save your lesson, you can download it in as a JSON file.
Every week, subscribers receive a new themed lesson pack ready to import into the app.
Gamilingo is designed for young learners aged approximately 5–12, covering levels A1 (beginner) through A2+. Our ready-made packs progress from basic vocabulary to more complex grammar structures. The custom lesson builder works for any age or level — if you teach older students, you can create appropriate content. Our goal is to have a full curriculum that will bring students to conversational fluency.
The app itself is language-agnostic — you can create lesson packs in any language using the lesson builder. Our ready-made weekly packs are in English, but the platform works for French, Spanish, German, or any other language you teach.
Lesson packs are currently stored locally in your browser. This means your lessons are available on the computer where you created them, but won't automatically appear on a different device (even if you log in there with your login details). If you want to use your lessons on another computer, use the download/export feature to save the lesson pack file, then import it on the other device. We also recommend regularly downloading your lesson packs as a backup.
We occasionally release updates to improve the app and add new features. Before any update that could affect your locally stored lessons, we will notify you by email at least 7 days in advance, with a reminder 48 hours before. Please download all your lesson packs and student information before the update to make sure you don't lose any content. You can then re-import them after the update. We'll always include clear instructions in the update notice.
Gamification & Student Engagement
Students earn up to 3 stars per activity based on their performance. Stars accumulate throughout the lesson, filling a progress bar. When they collect enough stars, they unlock a treasure chest — a rewarding moment that kids get excited about and remember after the lesson. It's designed to keep motivation high from the first activity to the last. In the treasure chest you'll find a certificate of completion and progress report of the lesson - you can share these with the students or their parents.
Yes. Create student profiles on the platform and every completed lesson is automatically saved — date, theme, total stars earned, and activities completed. You can see each student's full lesson history at a glance, which helps you plan future lessons and identify areas where they need more practice.
Yes. Gamilingo generates shareable progress summaries when the treasure chest is unlocked - these can be shared with parents to demonstrate learning — which helps justify your rates and encourages rebooking.
